LG G4 Rumors Ignite with Leaked Image is a post by Cory Gunther from Gotta Be Mobile.
Now that Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and the new HTC One M9 have both been announced and revealed, the next major smartphone release coming in early 2015 is the highly anticipated LG G4. And while we’ve heard rumors of the new G4 for months, today we’re getting our first possible (but early look) at the phone thanks to an alleged leaked press image.
The popular LG G3 was announced back in May of 2014 and quickly became one of the best Android smartphones thanks to some impressive specs and a big 5.5-inch HD screen. We’ve heard a few reports about the upcoming LG G4, and earlier this month the biggest set of details revealed an all-new metal design and much much more.

The first set of rumors started floating around about LG’s upcoming smartphone late last year, but we’re still waiting for some more solid rumors that give us a better idea of what to expect. With HTC and Samsung’s phones both now official, rumors and leaks will start to focus on the LG G4 and bring more details to light. Starting with the leaked image shown below.
In early February the new LG G4 smartphone was somewhat confirmed by LG themselves, following some recent rumors, and then earlier this month after the Galaxy S6 and One M9 launch, one LG executive shared a few key details about the upcoming LG G4’s design and more.
And while we still don’t know too much about the device, things are slowly but surely starting to take form as the potential March or early April announcement nears. Today we received what could potentially be our first look at the all-new LG G4, although the leak comes from an unreliable source, and is reportedly only an early press image. One that may or may not represent the final design of the LG G4.
Above is an image from a unknown leakster that is reportedly getting information from a reliable source, but nothing can be confirmed at this point. He states this is an early press photo of the upcoming LG G4, which means that this could be accurate, or things may be slightly changed by the time the phone is actually released to the public in the coming months.
As you can see from the image above, the LG G4 looks like a hybrid device between the LG G3 released last year, and the new LG G Flex 2 that was announced at CES in early January. Meaning it has a slightly curved display, if this image is legit.
According to the latest news and reports, the LG G4 will be built out of durable metal materials to take on the Galaxy S6, HTC One M9 and the iPhone 6. All previous LG devices have been made of cheap and lightweight plastic materials, similar to what Samsung typically uses. The LG G3 had a brushed aluminum design to the plastic frame, but it was still made of plastic. We’re hearing LG will shift to aluminum for the G4, but that doesn’t look to be the case from this new image.

The photo shows a large and slightly curved smartphone, which makes sense given LG has been building curved displays, and they could be trying to take on the Galaxy S6 and the Edge at the same time. We see the same trademark rear buttons, a big camera which could mean an improved 16 or 20 megapixel lens, the same laser auto-focus, and a rear speaker.
Initial rumors suggested the new LG G4 could come with a new 5.5-inch 3K 2880 x 1620 resolution display, but if LG plans on curving the screen, we’re not expecting an evolutionary new 3k display, and instead something along the lines of the already impressive 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD (2k) screen in the G3 from 2014. Other rumored specs include the Snapdragon 810 8-core processor 3GB of RAM, 32 and 64GB storage options with a micro-SD slot, a large 3,200 or bigger battery, and possibly a built-in stylus. Again, these are all only rumors for now, as is the image above, so we’re taking everything with a grain of salt until more information surfaces.
In 2014 the LG G3 was announced in May and released a little over a month later, but so far everything we’re hearing points to a slightly earlier release in 2015. That means we should be learning more about this impressive phone sooner rather than later, and we’ll keep an eye out for more details.
