The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red promised bug fix updates for PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game and the company is starting to deliver on that promise. Today, shortly after it rolled out a second update for the PC Witcher 3, the developer’s rolled out an update that’s expected to fix some of the initial Witcher 3 problems on PS4 and Xbox One.
Last week, after three years of development, CD Projekt Red released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, an open world roleplaying game that follows in the footsteps of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. This is a substantial update though it won’t be the last. The developer remains committed to ongoing support for the PC and console versions of the game and it plans to roll out new DLC content this week.
Witcher 3 Xbox One Update Coming Soon
The Witcher 3 Xbox One update with fixes and enhancements still isn’t available though the developer says that its release shouldn’t be too far behind.
@daveyb797 It’s in certification so hopepfully very soon.
— Marcin Momot (@Marcin360) May 26, 2015
According to CD Projekt Red’s Marcin Momot, The Witcher 3 Xbox One patch is currently in the certification process at Microsoft which means that a release could come at any time. Those who own the Xbox One will want to keep an eye out on the developer’s forums for news about the update.
Witcher 3 Xbox One Update Will Lock Frame Rate
The Witcher 3 Xbox One update’s change log is unknown but it looks like one feature has emerged ahead of the software’s highly anticipated release date.
@stay_scialla The lock should be there in the upcoming patch.
— Marcin Momot (@Marcin360) May 26, 2015
According to Momot, the Xbox One’s patch should include a frame rate lock that keeps the game at a stable 30 frames per second. Right now, the game sometimes goes over that and sometimes under. This has led to stuttering and performance problems for some users.
Dev Working on Fix for Big Witcher 3 Xbox One Problem
One of the biggest problems plaguing the Xbox One version of The Witcher is an issue with the instant resume feature. Users claim that they are losing their progress when the Xbox One is put into standby mode. Fortunately, the developer is aware of the issue and it’s working on a fix.
According to a forum post, CD Projekt Red says that it’s “aware of the issue and that it’s treating it “very seriously.” It’s not clear if the patch for the Xbox One version of the game will include this fix or if it will arrive on an upcoming version of the software. With a release imminent, Xbox One players should find out soon.
