FIFA 16 Release Date Confirmed: 5 Things to Know is a post by Josh Smith from Gotta Be Mobile.
The FIFA 16 release date is official and EA just announced a huge new upgrade that brings new players and teams to FIFA games for the first time.
In a new FIFA 16 trailer we get a look at the first woman players in FIFA 16, learn the confirmed FIFA 16 release date and find out that some players just can’t handle the new teams that are coming later this year.
Here’s what’s new in FIFA 16 so far and what you need to know about the update and the addition of women to the pitch on the new FIFA game.
Here’s a fast look at the new FIFA 16 release date details and features that EA confirmed in a short FIFA 16 video trailer in late May.
FIFA 16 Release Date
Just like we told you weeks ago, the FIFA 16 release date is going to arrive on September 25th in the U.S. This could come a few days later in other regions, but that is not confirmed at this point.
EA also confirmed that the FIFA 16 release date brings the game to Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We expected this based on retailer listings, but the confirmation is great to know for gamers with older consoles.
There is no word on a FIFA 16 demo or the early FIFA 16 release date for EA Access members, but it would not surprise us to hear nothing on these items until July or August.
FIFA 16 Trailer
Watch the first FIFA 16 trailer below to see the new FIFA 16 Women’s teams in action on the pitch and behind the scenes.
We expect to see a longer FIFA 16 gameplay trailer in the coming weeks at E3 2015. This is a good introduction to the game, but it does not focus on a plethora of new features that will change how you play the game. A countdown on the FIFA 16 site shows a reveal coming on June 15th.
FIFA 16 Women’s Teams
For the first time ever gamers can play as Women’s National Teams in FIFA games. This is exclusive to FIFA 16. The new addition includes 12 national teams. Choose from Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy or Mexico.
This is not a minor undertaking for EA to simply change some pixels on the screen. EA promises authentic player likeness for the Women’s teams with head scans and updated player models.
We’ll also see animations tailored to the women players with new running motion, facial animations and hair movement.
FIFA 16 Women’s Team Limitations
This is the first year for woman players in FIFA and there are some limitations to gameplay that you will want to know about.
In FIFA 16 the Women’s National Teams can play in Match Day, an Offline Tournament, and Online Friendly Matches. There is no mention of FIFA 16 Ultimate Team Mode for the new players.
EA also notes that you cannot pick a Women’s National Team to play against a Men’s team. The disclaimer notes, “Women’s National Teams compete exclusively against other Women’s National Teams.”
FIFA 16 Women’s Teams Piss Off Some Gamers
Overall the reaction to the Women’s National Teams is positive on social media, but some gamers are not happy with the addition.

Women being on FIFA 16 is a clear example of equality gone wrong.. The standard isn't as good as the conference so why one and not the other
