iPhone 6s Release Date Window Narrows is a post by Josh Smith from Gotta Be Mobile.
Forget rumors of an early arrival, the iPhone 6s release date window narrowed this morning with a new offer that allows buyers to get a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus now and then upgrade by the end of the year to the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus.
With this offer and Apple’s financial information the iPhone 6s release date window no longer spans two months, but drops down to just over two weeks.
T-Mobile is ready for the iPhone 6s release date with a new offer that allows shoppers to buy the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus today and then upgrade to the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus before the end of the year and keep the same payment.
Although the deal leaves the tail end of the upgrade process open, it all but confirms that there is no iPhone 6s release date coming before September 8th.
This is a sharp move by T-Mobile considering that many shoppers are wary of buying the iPhone 6 right now with an iPhone 6s release date likely in late September.
In a new video this morning T-Mobile CEO John Legere did not go so far as to confirm the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 6s release date in the five-minute video, but this is a clear move to keep selling the iPhone 6 so close to the iPhone 6s release date. Legere also called out Verizon’s new Device Payment plans and carrier changes to international calling or texting. Legere says,
“I know it’s that time of year when you want a new iPhone, but you’re hesitant because there may be a newer model on the horizon. Well I can’t say anything about what Apple will or won’t be doing, but what I can do is take that hesitation completely out of your mind.”
Watch the video below for the details about how T-Mobile will let you lock in the price on the new iPhone if you buy it before the end of the year.

Jump On Demand already offers a 16GB iPhone 6 for $15 a month with fast upgrade options. If you buy the iPhone 6 before September 8th, or if you already are a T-Mobile Jump on Demand subscriber with an iPhone 6 at $15 a month you can get in on this offer.
When the new iPhone 6s release date arrives users on these plans can go into a T-Mobile store and upgrade to the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus and trade in the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to keep the same $15 a month payment on one of the new iPhone models.
You must buy the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus on T-Mobile Jump on Demand before labor day, which is also likely before the iPhone 6s event, and then you can upgrade before the end of the year. This allows some leeway in case the iPhone 6s release date includes shortages for the first several weeks.
With this new information the iPhone 6s release date window narrows to September 8th through September 28th, which marks the end of Apple’s fiscal year. Apple typically announces new iPhone sales relating to this period. Although it is not confirmed, Apple will likely want to book a full weekend of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus sales in Q4.
New iPhone release dates take place on Fridays so September 11th, September 18th and September 25th are all options. Apple could choose to avoid launching on September 11th, leaving the latter two dates as the most likely options.
