Clash of Clans is one of those games people play for months and months, and many iOS users have been playing it for three years. With more than 100 million installs on the Google Play Store, and even more on iOS, this is one of the most popular mobiles games on the planet, and it’s about to get even better with a huge update. Read on for more details about a few of the new features coming with the Clash of Clans Summer 2015 update.
Late last year the developers, Supercell, released a big update with tons of new upgrades, a brand new dark troop called the Lava Hound, and lots of game-balancing tweaks. Since then a few small updates have arrived to even things out even more, but the biggest update in nearly a year is coming soon.
Rumored to be released in the next two days, the Summer 2015 update is set to offer some major new options that will drastically change how gamers enjoy Clash Of Clans. Below are a few videos showing off new features, and everything you need to know about the incoming update.
What We Know So Far
- Level 5 Dragons
- 2nd Air Sweeper Unit
- Dark Elixir Spell Factory
- Poison Dark Spell
- Earthquake Dark Spell
- Two New Leagues
- Resource Collectors immune to lightning spells
- Army Train Button (no more searching for Barracks)
- more
The Clash of Clans Summer 2015 update is bringing some of the biggest changes we’ve seen in nearly nine months, and the biggest of them all is the new Dark Elixir Spell factory and level five dragons. However, the list above are the only changes the developers have announced so far, and we have a feeling more will be on board.
Probably the most important part of the update are the level five dragons and the brand new Dark Elixir Spell Factory. These are going to open up brand new attack strategies, more options for earning stars, and sets the stage for even more features, spells, and troops in the near future.
First up is a teaser video showing off the new level 5 dragon, available for Town Hall lvl 10 players only, the new Barracks screen, and the second air sweeper. Adding an easy screen to build troops rather than searching for the barracks is a welcomed edition.
The level 5 dragon will be available to those with a Town Hall lvl 10, and to help fight off huge Dragon attacks a second air sweeper will be unlocked at Town Hall 9 to keep things balanced. Then, as mentioned above, there’s a new “training” button right above the attack button on the left, which will be a one-stop area to build all your troops, spells and more.
Next up is the new Dark Elixir Spell Factory. We don’t know too much about this yet, but Supercell is changing the way spells work. Town Hall level 10 players will now be able to carry 11 spells, instead of five, but all regular spells take up two spots. This means the same five spell limit will stay in place, but that 11th spot can be filled with one of two new dark spells. Those being a poison spell to kill troops or Hero’s, and an earthquake spell to kill walls, building and more.
Users will be able to use 11 poison or earthquake spells, as they only take up one spot in the spell factory. A combination of all of them can obviously be used, and this will bring an entire new dynamic to how users attack. Take out clan castles with the new poison spell, then when you’re close to getting 50% or trying to take down a town hall, that earthquake spell can finish things off.
The Poison Dark Elixir Spell doesn’t look at that great initially, but we have a feeling this will be a great addition to attack strategies when it comes to Clan Wars.
Then, as mentioned above, there are also some changes to leagues. With this new update there will be two new leagues. The Titan league, and a brand new Legend league for those over 5000 trophies. Something I’ll probably never reach.
One more major change is coming to Clash Of Clans that has millions of gamers extremely upset. In this upcoming update players will no longer be able to steal gold, elixir, and dark elixer with lightning spells. Resource collector storage will no longer be effected by lightning. This means max players with 4-5 spells can’t come in and steal all of a players dark elixir and leave.
We’re also hearing the new earthquake spell will not work on resource storage units either. Essentially saving players from losing thousands from a simple lightning or earthquake attack.
Looking at the videos above players will notice the troop layout screen has slightly changed to be more visually appealing, and the new training button will be one place to train all of your troops without having to search around your base for barracks, dark barracks, or the spell factories. Making it easier for gamers to build troops. Another new change is spell factories can now be queued with additional spells. Just like the regular troops, these can be queued and ready to go, so once you’ve used a spell during an attack another one starts brewing, before you finish the attack.
And last but not least there will now be a new “filter clan chat” option in settings which will block offensive words and chat in clans, just like we see in the global chat.
All said and done this looks to be one of the biggest updates we’ve seen in a very long time with Clash of Clans. There’s been rumors of a third hero coming to join the Archer Queen and Barbarian King, but that’s yet to be confirmed. We’re also hoping for the ability to use King and Queen’s during war while they’re upgrading, but doubt that’s coming any time soon. Do you like the new changes, spells, and features? Let us know what you think in the comment section below, and what you’d like to see added to Clash of Clans.
